Storm Trouper – Sadie in the SCMP
Thanks to South China Morning Post journalist Anthea Rowan for featuring me in her article exploring the stormy creative highs and lows of bipolar disorder in Monday’s SCMP! Always a pleasure to help spread bipolar awareness and offer a few cracked mental ideas for how to channel it creatively.
Thanks also to ace SCMP photographer Antony Dickson for a hilarious photoshoot on my roof, where for no particular reason (other than the weather was nice) we decided to recreate classic scenes from two of my all-time favorite movies with my new poo Mojo Hobo Kaye! Mojo has been helping me get my mojo back since Hobo passed away. Unfortunately, my mojo is not the only gift Mojo has given me. He also gave me ringworm. (Hence the strategically draped Doctor Who scarf! 🤣)
Holy Bonios! What possessed me to close my eyes??!
I’m afraid this is a textbook example of how ringworm gets passed from animals to humans – and probably Covid, too. If you haven’t guessed the films (or are far too young to remember them) the first is from As Good As It Gets and the second is from There’s Something About Mary. Sadly, my Mary days are long behind me and I now most closely resemble Magda.
Antony and I then shared a trip down Delusional Lane where he took this gorgeous one of me and my idol Frank Sinatra on our wedding day…
Frank also features in the article, giving me my first reasonable excuse to tag us together forever in a post! View the print version of the article here or the online version below.
